14 Jan 2020-3 Feb 2020 was my first adventure to Kenya. Carolyn (from United States who used Best Camping before) worked with owner Imraan to create a customized experience for... read more 14 travelers. Thomas greeted us (most of us did not know each other at that time) at the airport in Nairobi before taking us to the hotel. Imraan visited us at the hotel to welcome us, chat and answer questions. Each of two safari vehicles carried 7 of us with Richard & John as our capable drivers/guides. They were knowledgeable, friendly and safe drivers. They also loaded/unloaded our duffels/luggage from the vehicles when we arrived at or departed from the lodges/camps. We were at various locations (including Tsavo West Nat’l Park, Amboseli Nat’l Park, Samburu Nat’l Park, Maasai Mara Nat’l Reserve, Lake Naivasha), going on game drives, many times twice a day. To see so many different animals and birds plus scenery upfront and so close is more than awesome - never quite knew what nature would open to our eyes and senses. The lodges & camps were mostly good-sized and comfortable with delicious food with good choices for vegetarians and vegans. Imraan had no problem addressing matters quickly and efficiently. Fortunately, with this experience well planned, very few noticeable snafus. Imraan was in contact with leader Carolyn as well as Richard & John to make sure things were in order. Best Camping wants each person to have a memorable experience. I might add that it is somewhat a family affair. His children have taken the initiative to bag small seedling balls that are distributed to each of the travelers. We toss the balls during game drives in an attempt to revitalize landscape. Refreshing to see family involved in the business while caring for the environment. Since Carolyn had experience from her return visits, she had ideas of accommodations, distance considerations and such. She and Imraan worked out a wonderful itinerary for the 14 of us. Please seriously consider Best Camping Tours & Safaris (Nairobi) for a pre-set itinerary or a customized experience. He and his staff work hard to provide a safe, memorable, educational and fun experience. That is why I had planned to return January – February 2021. Alas, pandemic altered those plans. But I will write a review of my recent return to Kenya 20 Jan 2022-13 Feb 2022.
